Hashimotos is treatable.
My story is soon to come.

In the meantime, I'd like to share my recent health revelation
concerning antibody numbers for hypothroidism and Hashimotos.
As I'll share in my story, I began three years ago searching for
a treatment for my Hashimotos.
I took Levothyroxine, and Synthroid Armour for short periods of time
knowing that by only treating the thyroid I was overlooking the cause
of its weakening. I visited a host of health practitioners.
Then a year and a half ago, with the help of a naturopath, I finally
began seeing a steady, verifiable improvement.

Today, I want to mention that I'm within the normal range in
antibodies and TSH numbers, but still working to get them even lower.
This is a health issue I find surprisingly prevalent. And I don't want
others to go through what I did trying to find an answer.

As this is my introductory post, I want to mention what I discovered this week.
I watched a documentary, Betrayal, an in-depth medical discussion
of the causes of auto-immune disease. I highly recommend it.

My immediate take away is that Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer
contains lead. I write to you because I've been treating my Hashimoto's with diet
and having the positive results I've mentioned, but I know that heavy metals
can also throw the body's immune system. I've tried hard to limit my exposure to them.

I researched the lip shimmer, having used it for ten years--vanity acknowledged--wanting
some lip color, and knowing most lipsticks contain an assortment of unhealthy substances.
Anyone who's used this company's Lip Shimmer for reasons I did, thinking it
was a healthy "cosmetic," might want to check it out. It also contains aluminum,
which early in my journey, I discovered was in high concentration in my body.

Yesterday I made my own lip glass, which didn't turn out with the red tint I'd hoped.
I've ordered an all-natural food coloring to add to it, and will let you know how that turns out.
It's quite simple to make and has a beeswax base.

I wish you good health and a feeling of connectedness this holiday season.

Warmly,
Judith
